If you are reading this, it probably means that you have been recruited into Amra's Legions. Welcome. We are a family style, family friendly guild. We seek to be large enough that we can have guild groups and raids; and yet small enough that we get to be friends.
If you have just been recruited, you are trying to find out if we are a guild that meets your needs. Good! That is exactly what you should be doing. We will also be checking you out to see if you are the kind of person who will fit well in Amra's Legions. So, here are some of the things you can expect from us, and what we expect from you.
Amra's Legions is an active growing guild. To continue to move forward we need to keep a good reputation. That means that any player who carries our name also needs to have a good reputation. For example: no boss ninjas. A "boss ninja" is a player who sees someone else clearing the path (trash mobs) to a boss, and runs in to take out the boss while the player who did all the work is still fighting or resting. Also: no ToS violations (such as selling gold), no trolling (deliberately arguing with people on public chat channels just to annoy or get attention), and no group crashing ("Group Crashing" is leaving a group in the middle of an instance because you got what you wanted and don't care if anyone else did or not.).
We will try to help you if you get stuck in a quest or have a question about the game. We also expect you to help other guildies in the same way. However, we are not here to do for you what you can do for yourself. So, please, no begging for coin or powerleveling.
We are not a raid grinding guild; however, we are not a leveling guild either. We are willing to invest time and energy into help you develop your characters. We expect that when your characters are developed you will stay with us and help the guild and other players develop as well. While there are valid reasons to leave one guild and join another; we do not believe that using Amra's Legions to level up and then abandoning us to join a raid grinding guild is honest or reasonable. We are working to be able to do high level groups and raids, we will need you to help us achieve that goal.
We will try to be pleasant, understanding, patient, and friendly with all members of the guild. We expect the same from you. So, when you notice someone come on-line; say hello. When you see someone level or accomplish a goal; congratulate her/him. If someone speaks to you, try to respond. However, If someone does not respond to you; do not assume they are ignoring you, there are many times when we miss things because we are doing something else. Give the benefit of the doubt.
We will try to avoid drama; we expect the same from you.
We do not tolerate bigotry and/or derogatory terms about any "real life" group of people. This includes race, gender, age, class, sexual orientation (that means you don't call things "gay" as a term of derision), or any other real life categories. Racist, sexist, homophobic, or other offensive "jokes" will not be tolerated. "Kidding" about gaming character races, classes, etc. needs to be clearly indicated (a "wink ;-)" or a "JK" ((just kidding)) can make all the difference).
Amra's Legions is a family friendly guild; and yes, we do have young people in the guild. The use of profanity, obscenity, vulgarity, scatological references, obscene jokes, etc. in guild chat is unwelcome. While many of us slip once and a while, apologize; and attempt to do better. While we are less concerned about language in other chat channels; offensive comments by our members in public chat affects our reputation. If an officer notices abusive language in a public channel, expect disciplinary action. [Some members have wondered why we make this stipulation in a "mature" game that has content filters. This is a reasonable question, here is our answer: AL is one of the very few guilds, possibly the only AoC guild for people who don't like foul language. This is not a value judgement: we don't care about what vocabulary or topics people employ outside AoC, we don't think less of people who have different opinions about this; we just don't want it in our guild. To be clear, if you can't live with this; you need to look for another guild.]
We will attempt to form dungeon groups for your level and/or help you achieve your goals. We hope you will join such groups to help out others at your level and help them finish quests if convenient; especially if you expect others to do the same for you. However, Amra's Legions does not exist for any one member's benefit. Do not expect everyone else in the guild to drop what they are doing to come help you whenever you call. We will do what we can, but we are all here to have fun and enjoy the game.
What this all boils down to is mutual respect, appreciation, and maturity. If these are qualities you want in your guild, and qualities you believe you demonstrate; then Amra's Legions may be for you, and you may be a person for whom we are looking.
So, check us out for a couple weeks as a level one member. Read all of the articles in the Guild Information box. If and when you decide that Amra's Legions is right for you; then, apply for membership on this web site. If you are approved you will gain access to additional areas of the website and be promoted to level two in the guild.
